| Description | This station explores the label 'Irish' in America today through song. We will use a diverse body of music to discuss the stereotypes and realities of being Irish, emigrating from Ireland and existing in a society with several Irish lineages. We will necessarily make distinctions between the media spectacles (i.e. lucky charms) and progressive creativity, which will hopefully allow us to better understand the ways race interacts with our modern society. In doing so we will cross many genres including hardcore punk, classic rock, folk and several hybrids. |
